Virtual Private Network Consortium -- VPNC

Welcome to the Virtual Private Network Consortium, better known as VPNC. VPNC is the international trade association for manufacturers in the VPN market.

Founded in 1999, the primary purposes of the VPNC are:

Promote the products of its members to the press and to potential customers
Increase interoperability between members to help them better serve their potential customers
Serve as the forum for the VPN manufacturers throughout the world
Help the press and potential customers understand VPN technologies and standards

It should be noted that VPNC does not create standards; instead, it strongly supports the current and future IETF standards.

VPNC interoperability testing

VPNC issues logos for interoperability to VPNC member products which have successfully completed the testing. This testing is available to our IPsec and SSL members. Read more about VPNC's interoperability logos and the products that have received them.

Keeping up with VPNC

To get the latest news from VPNC, please join the VPNC Update mailing list by sending a message to vpnc-update-request@vpnc.org. The body of the message should be the single word subscribe. This list has announcements of VPNC activities, press releases from VPNC members, VPN-related trade shows, and other news of interest to the VPN market. Public mailing lists

As a public service, VPNC offers an archive of the IETF IPsec Working Group mailing list. We also list VPN standards, including the Internet Drafts and RFCs for VPN technologies.

VPNC also hosts many VPN-related mailing lists, including:

The ietf-ipsec-failover mailing list discusses the topic of IPsec gateway failover and redundancy solutions.
The ietf-xauth and ietf-mode-cfg mailing lists are for discussing these two protocols that are no longer part of the IPsec WG's charter.
The SCEP mailing list discusses the SCEP certificate enrollment protocol used on many IPsec gateways.
