Welcome to the latest issue of the VPNC Update. We hope you find the news in this issue valuable.
The VPNC interoperability lab has grown a great deal in the last year. We started 2003 with 12 members' products having Basic Interoperability logos; we are starting 2004 with 23 products which have the Basic Interoperability logos and 13 products with AES Interoperability logos! Our on-going testing has helped members increase interoperability and stability in their products, and has helped the marketplace see that interoperability in IPsec VPNs is real.
This month, one product received logos both for Basic Interoperability and for AES Interoperability:
In the coming year, we expect to expand the testing in the VPNC lab even further. We hope to start certificate interoperability testing later this year, depending on the progress of a profile for certificate use in IPsec by the IETF. Assuming that the IETF finishes the Cryptographic Suites for IPsec document, VPNC will begin testing systems that explicitly use those suites. Of course, we will continue to add new systems to the current logo programs, and will continue to re-test systems that have already received logos as VPNC's members update their software and firmware.
See the VPNC testing page for full lists of all the VPNC members' products which have proven interoperability and conformance.
