VPNC testing logo

June was another busy month for VPNC's IPsec testing. We had two new systems receive Basic Interoperability logos, one system receive the AES Interoperability logo, and one system that already had both logos have their systems fully retested based on new firmware. This means that a total of 39 systems are interoperating in the VPNC test lab.

This month has a first for VPNC: a test of a device whose WAN interface is not Ethernet. In the past few years, more and more firewalls and VPNs have been designed for the small- and medium-business (SMB) market that increasingly has Internet connectivity through DSL. In order to test these products, VPNC uses its own DSLAM so that the tested traffic stays within VPNC's lab. This yields more useful and reliable results for the tests.

This month, two systems from VPNC members received logos for IPsec Basic Interoperability:
