A new VPN-related RFC has been published by the IETF. Design of the IKEv2 Mobility and Multihoming (MOBIKE) Protocol , RFC 4621, is an informational document that describes the thinking of the MOBIKE Working Group as it developed the MOBIKE protocol. That Working Group (which was co-chaired by Paul Hoffman, VPNC's director) went through many design choices before ending up with the final MOBIKE protocol that is described in RFC 4555. By publishing the design decisions, future developers of secure mobility protocols can see the many options that this Working Group rejected before eventually picking the ones for MOBIKE.
