Featured VPNC Member White Paper

One of the more popular features on VPNC's web site is our extensive list of white papers from our members. These cover a range of topics from VPN basics to cryptography. As interesting new white papers appear, we will list them in the VPNC Update.

Ensuring Security and Compliance Through Policy-based Networking, from AEP Networks, is a good introduction in how to set up the security of a network. The setup is based on network-wide policies instead of think of the policies as "firewall rules". Such thinking is particularly useful for networks with many remote users, both individuals on PCs and remote offices with their own networks. The paper covers the type of thinking that is needed to turn such policies into workable security actions for a VPN.
