Moving PIC forwards
There was some substantiative points raised during the IETF last call.
William Dixon made some requests for clarification that Yaron agreed
were good. Yaron/Hugo: will there be a new draft soon with these
clarifications?
There were a few people who felt that the protocol needed to be
changed to prevent denial-of-service attacks. Hugo said that was
pretty easy (add a round trip with a cookie at the beginning of the
exchanges), and a few people said they wanted this, but not many
people spoke up.
So, I would like to do a short straw poll of the group. There are
three choices:
(a) leave the protocol as it is
(b) add DOS protection as Hugo described
(c) something else
Choice (a) is easier and will get the protocol done sooner. Choice
(b) adds some protection but requires a new round of the document and
a new round of people reading the document. If you choose choice (c),
please say what it is you want.
Please express your interest on the list or to me in private, and do
so within a week (before November 7). Thanks!
