Subject: notify remote device about
Xauth
Hi,
It is neccessary that edge device should inform
the remote device that Xauth follows once after completing
the phase 1 exchange . (this is what they specified in Xauth draft)
We are any how exchanging the vendor Id payload in the first two
messages of phase 1 which is
sufficient to notify a remote device that 'Xauth '
follows once after completion of Phase 1
exchanges.
In the Xauth draft they specified two methods to notify the remote
device about Xauth :
1)Notification payloads with in Phase 1 exchange.
2)Notification via Authentication Type.
My question is why to use above
two methods even though we already have 'Vendor
ID ' option to notify the remote host about 'Xauth' ?
Which method is more justified to notify the remote device
about Xauth either by using 'Vendor Id' or 'Notification payload '
or 'Notification via Authentication types' ?
bye
