In hindsight, I think I took the vendor id out of a preliminary version of
the v6 draft that you sent me before it was published. You must have changed
the value of the vendor id during the final editing stages. (No worries,
since we haven't released this code yet.)

Upon closer inspection, I saw that the line
dividing black from white was in fact a shade
of grey. As I drew nearer still, the grey area
grew larger. And then I was enlightened.
